Just a quick one this time: Microsoft is still cleaning up from the Edg.io shutdown. Meaning azureedge.net
will cease to exist. I don’t want to rehash what happend, so I invite you to read the two links yourself.
Quick and dirty
- All azureedge.net addresses will go eventually
- If you filter outgoing traffic or use traffic inspection you might need to act, for Intune most endpoints are moving to manage.microsoft.com – which doesn’t support inspection.
- If you look at the search results from Google you’ll find most relevant articles from Microsoft that talk about the changes
- Here’s a list of examples
- Network endpoints for Microsoft Intune | Microsoft Learn (look for “March” – by the time this is published, you’ll probably already noticed it 😉 )
- Migrate to Front Door while retaining *.azureedge.net domain – Azure Content Delivery Network | Microsoft Learn
- Critical: .NET Install links are changing – .NET Blog
- Internet access requirements – Configuration Manager | Microsoft Learn
- Important: Switching CDN providers – Azure DevOps Blog
- Network requirements – Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps | Microsoft Learn
That’s it for today!
